Chestnut House is a purpose built Nursing Home situated in the lovely village of Charlton Down, Dorchester. It is a three floor building which has a lounge and dining room on each floor, there is also a cinema room, IT room, quite room and music room which residents can choose to use at any time. It has large landscaped grounds. Our priority is the welfare and happiness of our residents and staff. The Home caters for 85 residents providing Nursing care to male and females over the age of 65 for long and short term stays who may require nursing care. The ground floor has a 31 bedded EMI unit providing specialist care to residents who may suffer from dementia which is run by highly experienced and qualified staff. The remaining 54 beds are on the first and second floors which include a high dependency unit and provisions for respite, intermediate and general nursing care.

they live as independently and normally as possible, with dignity and
deep respect. We offer our residents the opportunity to enhance their
quality of life by providing support and stimulation. Our mission is to
“strive for excellence in providing an ethically sound, 
individualised,
highest quality of nursing care for the older people in an a homely environment
with the support of our highly motivated and trained staff.” Our
prime aim is to make each resident feel involved in decision making about
their life in the Home and to be a valued member of the community.
